Annie's Evaluation.
This is the final outcome of my hair design based on Elizabethan hair inspired and made into a contemporary style. I am very happy with the final look that Annie created. The partings are very neat in-between the braids and the braids themselves are tight to the head and raised just like i wanted. Annie produced this look with plenty of time to spare and very quickly. I think the baby hairs could have been slicked down more thoroughly but the overall design was perfectly executed and i am very happy. In the back of the design there was meant to be pearl pins however they were not delivered in time to be used. Overall i think Annie was very professional and created the design exactly how i had envisioned and i am thrilled to have had her as my hair design partner on this project.
What I would change:
- The slick down hair to be more precise and thinner, using only the baby hairs.
- The use of Pearl pins for symbolic references to youth, wealth and purity.
What I wouldn't change:
- The braids were perfectly raised and in neat lines creating the structured look I wanted.
- The volume and size of the backcombing for the rest of the style as this added texture and size to the hair to resemble the contextual style of the Elizabethan era.
My Evaluation.
This is the final outcome of Annie's hair design created by me. I think overall the composition of this hair design was better than my practices and I am happy with the shapes and sizes of the hair rolls as well as the pearl pin placement and plaits. I was much more accurate with my sectioning of the hair which resulted in a perfectly neat line of graduating sizes hair rolls. Because the hair is a wig I did have some trouble with blending the hair to Annie's cropped hair cut. I asked Annie if she wanted to colour her hair with black supra colour where the natural colour showed however she said she was happy with the outcome of the hairstyle. If I could change one thing i would definitely have added the supra colour to create a more natural effect with the natural to synthetic hair as I feel this would have finished the look more. I produced the look quickly and i am proud of what I achieved as I have come from a background of no hair design whatsoever and have really pushed myself on this project.
What I would Change:
- Add super colour to Annie's natural hair as I think the black would have been more cohesive with the overall design.
- The tightness of the plaits on the left side of the head because from the back they look loose.
What I wouldn't Change:
- The sectioning I created was much more structured and made the design more equal and even.
- The pin placement as it was a last minute idea i think these really suited Annie's hair design and also added extra dimension to the hair.
